Moments of Glim is a Lisbon-based specialty tea brand offering loose-leaf teas, herbal infusions, and curated tea accessories. I founded the brand in December 2024 to address Lisbon’s limited specialty tea options and to connect with the growing community of tea lovers searching for specialty tea in this corner of the world.
My Tea Journey: From Brussels to the World
Born in Brussels to a Portuguese mother and Italian father, I was immersed in multiple cultures from day one. I grew up speaking three languages and absorbing diverse cultural traditions — including how different places approached tea.
During my university years in the UK, I discovered a world of tea beyond generic supermarket blends. Later, as a flight attendant based in the UAE, I traveled the world, tasting teas in dozens of countries and learning about global tea cultures and folkloric traditions through colleagues and passengers.
In 2017, I spent a transformative summer in China — where I experienced firsthand how tea is deeply rooted in both past and present. I still remember the refreshing bitterness of iced green tea under the summer heat.
Why I Started a Tea Brand in Lisbon
When I moved to Lisbon in 2018, I was surprised by the lack of specialty tea culture. As a daily tea drinker, I discovered that tea was widely seen as something to drink when you’re ill. My foreign tea-lover friends couldn’t find a place to enjoy high-quality loose-leaf teas, and my Portuguese friends didn’t know what to ask for.
So I created Moments of Glim with a clear mission:
🍃To make specialty tea in Lisbon as visible and accessible as specialty coffee.
🍃To offer affordable loose-leaf tea and premium tea accessories, to be consumed in a sustainable way.
🍃To educate and inspire tea lovers through content that demystifies the world of tea.
