Tea Workshop and Tea meditation
Moments of Glim Wellness — Tea Workshop & Meditation
When did you last
truly taste something?
We move through our days at a pace that keeps us permanently somewhere else — in the next task, the next worry, the next hour. Tea meditation is an invitation to land. To feel the warmth of the cup, to let a scent stop you in your tracks, to be here, in your body, for just a little while.
The practice
Tea as a
doorway inward.
Tea ceremony is one of the world's oldest contemplative practices — not because of any mysticism, but because of what it asks of you: to slow down, pay attention, and share space with others in silence and presence.
In a tea meditation, the senses become the anchor. Colour, aroma, warmth, taste, the sound of water — each one a thread pulling you back into the present moment, out of the noise in your head and into your body.
Why it works
Presence is its
own kind of healing.
For people living with chronic stress, pain, or exhaustion, the nervous system is often locked in a state of high alert — scanning, bracing, waiting for the next thing. Sensory-based practices like tea meditation gently interrupt that pattern.
When we slow down and use the senses with intention, we activate the parasympathetic nervous system — the rest-and-digest state where real recovery becomes possible. The tea is a vehicle. The presence is the medicine.
What a tea meditation looks like
Arriving together
We begin by settling in — taking a few breaths, letting the room slow down. No experience is needed and no performance is expected. Just showing up is enough.
The sensory journey
Each tea is introduced slowly — its origin, its character, what it asks of your attention. We smell before we taste. We hold before we drink. The senses are invited to do what they do best: bring you here.
Multiple infusions
Good tea reveals itself over several steepings — each cup slightly different, each moment its own. This mirrors something true about presence: it deepens the longer you stay with it.
Sharing & closing
We close with space to share what came up — or simply to sit in the quiet together. Often, people are surprised by how different they feel at the end: softer, slower, more themselves.
