Shiatsu Massage Therapy
Moments of Glim Wellness — Shiatsu Therapy
Your pain is real.
Your body is trying to tell you something.
You've been feeling chronic conditions like back pain, shallow breathing, headaches, or exhaustion that sleep doesn't seem to fix. You've probably heard that there's nothing medically wrong with you, that it's just stress. Shiatsu starts from a different premise: that your pain is a guide and your body is intelligently communicating with you that something needs to change.

What is Shiatsu
Like acupuncture,
but a massage.
Shiatsu is a Japanese therapy rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Using sustained pressure on acupuncture points — with palms, fingers, or elbows — it works to reactivate and redistribute the body's energy (Qi) along its meridian pathways.
Diagnosis and treatment happen at the same time, through a listening touch. I'm not just working on your muscles — I'm reading your body's language and responding to it.
Why it works differently
It goes where
nothing else reaches.
Most conventional approaches treat symptoms in isolation. Shiatsu treats the whole body-mind system. When chronic pain, fatigue, or tension persist despite treatment, it's often because the nervous system is still locked in survival mode — too wired to heal.
Shiatsu works directly with the vagus nerve, signalling safety to a body that has forgotten what that feels like.
What Shiatsu can address
Chronic pain
Back, neck, and joint pain held in the body's tension patterns, not just the muscles.
Nervous system dysregulation
The constant hum of anxiety, hypervigilance, or the exhaustion of chronic fatigue.
Digestive issues
Bloating, IBS, and gut tension that flare with stress and won't respond to diet alone.
Insomnia
A nervous system too activated to let go into rest, even when you're exhausted.
Autoimmune flares
Reducing the stress load that amplifies inflammation and keeps the immune system on high alert.
Emotional holding
Grief, stress, or unprocessed emotion stored somatically in the body's tissues.
What a session looks like
We begin with a conversation
Before any touch, we talk. I want to understand what you're experiencing — where it lives in your body, how long it's been there, what makes it better or worse. Nothing is too small to mention.
You remain fully clothed
Shiatsu is practiced on a massage table or on a floor mat, with you wearing comfortable clothing. There's no oil, nor undressing.
The body leads
I follow what I find, not a fixed routine. Pressure is static and might not be symmetric — it creates space rather than forcing release. Many people feel the breath deepen within minutes.
Emotions may surface
As held tension releases, memories or feelings sometimes emerge. This is normal, and welcome. The body and mind are not separate — Shiatsu honours that.
Shiatsu may be for you if you're experiencing
"Your body has been asking for attention for a long time. A session is a chance to finally listen."
Sessions are held in Lisbon. Use the contact form below to book or ask any questions.
